We pray for the repose of the souls of Martin Reid, Dungannon and formerly Mc Caughey Tce whose funeral took place on Monday 14th and whose burial took place in Greenhill Cemetery, Omagh and Martha Mc Elwaine, Mitchelbourne Tce and Rathfraggan whose funeral took place in St. Lawrence’s on Wednesday and whose burial took place afterwards in St. Lawrence’s Cemetery.  May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

Easter Duty

Every baptised Catholic must make their Easter Duty between Ash Wednesday and the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity which is Sunday 3rd June, 2012

 

Ecumenical Prayer Service

There will be an Ecumenical Prayer service at Round Tower, Inniskeen, on Sunday 27th May at 3.00pm led by Bishop Liam MacDaid and Bishop John McDowell. Mr Larry McDermott will speak on the history of the site and Sr. Una Agnew on “The Mystical Imagination of Patrick Kavanagh”. All welcome to attend. (Parking available in the school grounds).

 

Good Wishes for Canon Marron

Canon Marron has had his surgery and he is recuperating well.  We wish him a speedy return to full fitness and good health.

 

St. Joseph’s Young Priests Society

Parish Pastoral Council

There will be a Parish Pastoral Council meeting on Monday 28th May at 8.00pm in The Beeches Pastoral Centre.

 

P.T.A.A.

The annual pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Sunday 10th June. Bus leaving car park at 8.30am. Fare £15. All bookings to Peter Donnelly or Teresa Hagan must be in before Saturday 2nd June.

Chez Marie Thrift Shop

Chez Marie Thrift shop are currently looking for good quality clothing and bric-brac. These can be left at the shop during opening hours which are Thursday 2.00pm – 4.00pm and Saturday 2.00pm – 4.00pm.

 

G.A.A. Corner

·       Lotto numbers drawn last week were 6, 15, 20, and 30. There were no jackpot winners. Three people matched 3 numbers and shared £100.  Jackpot is now £1,600.

·       The official opening of the new pitch will take place next Sunday 27th May at 2.00pm. Everyone welcome.

·       The seniors and reserves are at home to Killyman today Sunday 20th at 2.15pm and 3.45pm.

·       U14’s are away to Naomh Mhuire on Wednesday 23rd May in Edendork at 7.30pm.

·       There will be a committee meeting in the clubrooms  on Monday 21st  May at 8.30pm in preparation for the official opening of the new pitch.

·       Gaelic 4 Girls  U/10 & U/12 training continues on Tuesday & Thursday at 5pm. Senior training continues each Friday evening at 6.30pm.

 

A Farmwatch Event - Fighting Crime in Rural Communities

The Chairperson Cllr Allan Rainey, MBE of Omagh Policing and Community Safety Partnership, would like to formally invite you to attend the Farmwatch launch and Show on the 23rd May 2012 in the Ecclesville Centre,Fintona at 10.00am The PSNI will facilitate a Property Marking Service from 10.00am – 8.00pm – marking trailers, quads and ride on lawn mowers with a unique serial number.  There will be other services included in the Farmwatch package which you will be offered at the event. Mechanical Services

Eucharistic Congress

The 50th International Eucharistic Congress (IEC2012) will feature the unveiling of a Healing Stone during the Opening Ceremony in the RDS on 10th June as a means of acknowledging the abuse of children. The Healing Stone comprises a large, shaped piece of Wicklow granite which is engraved with a prayer composed by a survivor of clerical abuse. The prayer was originally featured in the Liturgy of Lament celebrated in Dublin’s Pro-Cathedral in 2011.Work on the Healing Stone project began in early 2012. Following consultation with various people, including abuse survivors, it was agreed that the stone would be an appropriate symbol for the Congress
